  • gave a talk on Javascript engines, their uses, and how to write testable code when using a "weird" engine (ex: any JVM engine) for the December 2018 meeting
  • gave a presentation on the thoughtbot gem, administrate, for the February 2016 meeting
  • as co-organizer, secured speakers, co-organized agendas, and circulated SDRuby among the larger development community

Geek Girl Tech Conference

  • 2016 Conference: taught a course on HTML/CSS that guided attendees through producing a functional static site. Also staffed the SDRuby table, promoting Ruby and answering questions about the local Ruby community.
  • 2015 Conference: co-taught several courses on Ruby and Rails, as well as staffing the SDRuby table, answering questions about programming and Ruby.

  • volunteered for a 2016 panel on tech interviews, speaking in particular on whiteboarding, how to prepare for a technial interview, how to communicate when in the room, and ran a group mock interview/whiteboarding session that focused on OOP fundamentals
